VA black colouring for a versatile and aesthetic surface
There are 4 main reasons for VA black colouring with DEWE Brünofix.
- Cost-effective alternative: A cost-effective solution compared to galvanic processes.
- Beautiful black colour: An attractive black colour that sets aesthetic accents.
- Easy maintenance: The treated surfaces are easy to clean.
- Aesthetics and functionality: The matt, non-glossy surface increases the aesthetic versatility and expands the functional application possibilities of the treated materials.
Did you know that…

- our process is distinguished by the utmost care, specialised temperature control and exclusive Brünofix chemical products?
- our Brünofix speciality chemical products ensure optimum colouring results?
- our process produces a matt, non-glossy surface that is both functional and aesthetic?
Colouring stainless steel - the optimum solution in terms of both cost and aesthetics. You can rely on our experience.
Before stainless steel materials are coloured, they must be free of grease and clean. With some surfaces, we recommend to activate them by special pickling agents based on hydrochloric acid.
The colouring process is done by immersion and is generally comparable with the black oxidation process. The biggest differences consist in a particular working sequence, the temperature of the reaction bath, and special chemical products made by Brünofix. However, the type of the surface is completely different.
Whereas the surface is oxidised during black oxidation in a bath with a strong alkali (magnetite), i.e. conversion, VA blackening creates an oxidic-sulphidic coating. VA colouring also means that post-treatment with a corrosion protection product – essential for black oxidation – is not required.
