The water left on the metal surfaces following treatment in the hot rinse is displaced following immersion in the post-treatment bath (e.g. Dewatering Fluid). A thin corrosion protection film is applied at the same time.
The appearance of the workpieces is positively influenced by this: The colour of the surface becomes deeper and glossier. Watermarks caused by the drying of rinsing water are removed and the resulting oil film, containing corrosion protection additives, protects the surfaces from external influences such as moisture and oxygen in the air.
If there are specific requirements for corrosion protection, appropriate special products should be used. Selection is based on the properties of the corrosion protection oils as described in the relevant normative tests.
